Swarm Network Demo
A toy model of a robot swarm coordinating over a mesh radio network, inspired by my field work on autonomous maritime swarms, delay-tolerant networking, and comms for the DARPA Subterranean Challenge. It brings together the pieces of a multi-vehicle autonomy system: an operator's base station, an unreliable radio mesh, and vessels that keep operating on their own when communication links drop out.
From the dashboard you can send commands, add radio interference, or switch the radios to receive-only. Commands are versioned and relayed hop by hop, every vessel acknowledges back to the base station, and the page tracks two performance metrics: time to command (from click until every vessel has confirmed) and time to formation (from click until every vessel is on station).
It runs entirely in the browser on a Three.js scene graph, with a custom GPU shader for the ocean and instanced rendering for the radio traffic. Notes inside the demo walk through the architecture, from the command layer to shaders and GPU buffers.
